June 29, 2009 Special Membership Meeting

After the Special Membership Meeting on June 7, 2009, board members and other members started talking about the motion to revive the Audit Committee. Many members came up to the board saying how valuable an audit committee might be to the cooperative, as a board watchdog, and as a way to report on and ensure compliance with the agreement by both manager and cooperative.

Today, the board decided to schedule a Special Membership Meeting on Monday, June 29, 2009 at the cafe. The purpose of the meeting is for the membership to elect an Audit Committee and determine its objectives. It is suggested that candidates submit their names to the Secretary if they desire the membership's consideration for election to the Audit Committee. Candidates may also describe their reasons for wanting to participate on the Audit Committee. The Secretary will send out a list of the candidates to the membership prior to the meeting.
